About the Author
The story for The Blue Series was first created in my head as a teenager growing up in Oceanside, California during the mid-eighties. After graduating from SDSU as a registered nurse, I married, had two children, and raised a family after relocating to Boise, Idaho where I currently reside. After so many years had passed, one day I decided to write a single page of the story. It then turned into a novel. Not realizing the story was so big, I wrote a second Volume. Forced to split Volume 2 into two parts due to its size, I continued to write Volumes 3 and 4 during the years 2006 through 2009, but the story still wasn't finished. After taking a break, I wrote Volumes 5 through 8 in the last two years, completing the series in late 2014.

Deserves to be More
By DAVIS
Interesting story and characters, however, the series is in desperate need of a good edit... or three. It's a very rough draft, in my opinion, and needs major revisions.
Homophones and gerunds are a problem for the author, as are the overuse of adverbs and words such as"conflicted" and "amazing", misuse of similes and metaphors, pointless usage of words such as "noble" "supermodel" and "actress" to "describe" character mannerisms or traits, and incorrect word usage, such as "perspective" to mean "respective." These issues, as well as confusing dialogue, extraneous prose, and cliché after cliché are problematic. I try not to cringe while reading the series, and usually resort to skimming or skipping over large sections in order to finish.
I realize this may be written for a late teen/ young adult audience, but this series can be so much more. These books are obviously a labor of love. I hope the author writes more stories. Her imagination is truly unique indeed. Also, the book covers are stunningly beautiful.
p.s. My favorite character is Joel. I love his heart, but I'm sure he won't end up with his heart's desire. *sigh*

Under the Blue is a series that pulls you in. It's a long series but the characters must be explained as they evolve in order to understand the story on a deeper level. The details are so deep and enduring yet strong and kick-ass that you can't get enough of it.

It's a story of a much different concept on heaven and hell with such deepest and much research that you respect the author for going into so much detail.

The characters evolve into their own and have such total different freshness about them. You have every paranormal being to man I think in this book. It seems to give care with each character as it evolves. David's character is truly amazing. As he evolves you are drawn to him more and more.

Joel character at first I didn't like him but it's because I seen weakness but as the story evolves you see why. His character molds into an awesome character you'll start cheering for.

Dillon his character you'll love. You'll feel for him with such compassion but as his character grows you'll love it even more because he has a lot more in him of David then you think. I really enjoyed watching their family dynamics and how they nurtured each other and grew.

Azmodeus his character you hate from the start. But as the book moves along you see that this character makes the story that much more interesting and spicy. Then the other characters pull you in as they start to evolve. I can't wait to see what character I'll love next!

This is not a series for young readers or those without an open mind. So keep that in mind when you are scrolling through the reviews.

Love is such a powerful emotion that exist and that explains this through out this story. Showing you that is the battle of time. There are many twist and turns in the story. Perhaps the most I've ever seen in a series. It started slow, but picked up rapidly. Az and David's relationship pulls you in because it's hot yet forbidding and dangerous. I can't wait to see the rest pan out in that. Especially with The Arch Devils side kick vampire witch Esmeralda. She puts a spin of darkness with a bite for sure.

The authors words flow effortlessly off the page and it's easy to follow. You stay focused throughout the book not getting lost like some authors in their adventure scenes. I loved the different characters and they draw you into their world making you feel as though you are really their. Thanks Ms. Dillon for one hell of a ride.

It Reminded Me of Being an Emo Kid and I LOVED IT!
By Amazon Customer
Allow me to begin with, I was able to buy this ENTIRE series for $0.00 as a kindle e-book. I mean WHAT!?! That alone intrigued my cheap mind, but then to discover that it was an urban fantasy, young adult (more adult), M/M romance (kind of) series, that deeply contemplates the blurred line between good and evil and light verse dark, just thicken my initial interests.

To be honest, I was a little unsure where this book/series was going at the beginning. This may have been my new book jitters, too soon to fully commit, or it might have simply been slight confusion for the first few scenes of the plot (you decide). Once the story moved forward it just never stopped giving you more. The darkness of this book had me reminiscing of my days as an emo kid (I mean this as the highest compliment because I honestly thought those feelings were forever gone). I can understand how the black drama of Under the Blue may not appeal to everyone. At times the story can appear pretty bleak, but there is always a light situation (brotherly connection, new crush or romance, etc...) to keep the heavy stuff from crushing the reader.

In conclusion, I absolutely LOVED this entire read. The pace continued nicely from start to finish, always giving a new idea, dooming situation or heart-fluttering romance that had me flying through the 600+ page book. I am already more than 50% finished with the next volume and I am thrilled to have six more books to eat up (all of them being hundreds of pages).

2 side notes:
1) If you are looking for a smut covered plot then this may not be your read (I speak only for the first book. I have yet to discover what the rest of the series withholds). There are certainly strong M/M feelings and minute physical interactions, but this is not a smutty romance (not that there is a problem with that genre, it just isn't this book).

2) I think this would make an absolutely amazing anime. This visual art style would compliment this book's eerie darkness and supernatural romance aspects really well... Just a thought.

I mean, it's currently free. Why not give it a chance? Hope this helps.
