Agatha Christie, move over! Hard-core sex and scandal meet in this brilliantly funny whodunit.
A seaside village, an English country house, a family of wealthy eccentrics and their equally peculiar servants, a determined detective — all the ingredients are here for a cozy Agatha Christie-style whodunit. But wait — Edward “Mitch” Mitchell is no Hercule Poirot, and The Back Passage is no Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Mitch is a handsome, insatiable 22-year-old hunk who never lets a clue stand in the way of a steamy encounter, whether it’s with the local constabulary, the house secretary, or his school chum and fellow athlete Boy Morgan, who becomes his Watson when they’re not busy boffing each other. When Reg Walworth is found dead in a cabinet, Sir James Eagle has his servant Weeks immediately arrested as the killer. But Mitch’s observant eye pegs more plausible possibilities: polysexual chauffeur Hibbert, queenly pervert Leonard Eagle, missing scion Rex, sadistic copper Kennington, even Sir James Eagle himself. Blackmail, police corruption, a dizzying network of spyholes and secret passages, watersports, and a nonstop queer orgy backstairs and everyplace else mark this hilariously hard-core mystery by a major new talent.

Gay Agatha Christie
By Charly T. Anchor
Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Disclaimer:
* I read books in every genre, but I have a soft spot for romances that are more about feelings than sex. If a book has lots of lust-filled, dispassionate sex, I'm not impressed. If the sex is a manifestation of love, bring it on.

Rating: 7/10

Pros:
- Good plot. Not quite as twisty-turny as an Agatha Christie novel, but close.
- Funny. As in, FUNNY.
- Several likeable characters, if somewhat simple (this contributes to the story's humor).
- Sex scenes that are (and this is unique, from what I've read in m/m erotica, romance, whatever) integral to the plot.

Cons:
- Lots of sex that didn't do it for me. Again, the sex scenes are used as plot devices--and cleverly done--but they are much more graphic than say, those in Alex Beecroft's Captain's Surrender, and much less affecting. Why? Because they're just sex; there's very little feeling on the part of either character in any of them.
- Possible SPOILERS here: Tries to be a bit of a romance at the end but fails to create enough backstory between the main character and the other guy to fully succeed. Their sex scene is less than a page, for crying out loud (whereas others with despicable characters are several pages long and quite detailed)!
- I saw a few of the plot twists coming.

Overall comments: Worth reading if you like mysteries and either enjoy or don't mind gay sex, sometimes crudely described. Not for you if you're looking for sweet, tender gay romance.

A good first impression

First book I have read by this author. It was a good mystery rolled up in family drama and hot sex.

Upstairs, Downstairs and a Back Passage
By Foster Corbin
When this little mystery novel opens, Edward Mitchell, a Bostonian pursuing postgraduate studies at Cambridge University, finds himself in a steamy (in more ways than one) closet under the stairs of Drekeham Hall, "a stone's throw from the crumbly cliffs of the north Norfolk coast," with his best friend Harry "Boy" Morgan who has invited him down to meet the English upper class family of his fiancee Belinda Eagle. Although the ostensibly straight, sexy Morgan is engaged to be married, Mitchell wastes no time in his pursuit to bed him. Since this is a murder mystery, someone has to get killed quickly; and he does, a guest named Reg Walworth. Sir James Eagle, MP, Belinda's father, has his servant Meeks arrested for the murder.

Mitchell is addicted to detective fiction; he reads Conan Doyle (his favorite), G. K. Chesterton, Wilkie Collins and a "new writer of promise," Agatha Christie (the novel is set in 1925). He apparently has read Oscar Wilde as well. Of course what this randy young American likes even more than solving real live murders (even though he eventually gets around to solving them), however, is sex with any male that moves. In addition to his trysts with "Boy" Morgan, Mitchell makes it with Sir James Eagle's brother, Leonard, "vampirelike, beautiful, just this side of effeminate," and Officer Shipton, a naive country police officer, et al.

What we have in this novel is at once a comedy of manners pitting the British upper classes against the servant class, a first class murder mystery with the obligatory plot twists and turns and a hooty piece of erotica that is guaranteed to warm the cockles of your heart on a bleak winter evening. I'd also like to have the Eagle family's recipe for rhubarb crumble.

Amazon.com Review
The stories in How to Breathe Underwater, Julie Orringer's debut collection, swim with tragedies both commonplace and horrific. A fall from a treehouse, an ailing mother, a near-drowning, a premature baby, a gun--each is the source of a young woman's coming-of-age, which we witness through Orringer's lovely, driving prose. The author possesses an uncanny ability to capture scenes and complex emotions in quick strokes. In "Pilgrims," young Ella is taken to a hippie household for Thanksgiving, where her mother joins several other cancer patients in search of natural remedies: "Some of them wore knitted hats like her mother, their skin dull-gray, their eyes purple-shaded underneath. To Ella it seemed they could be relatives of her mother's, shameful cousins recently discovered." Shame is as omnipresent as water in this collection, sadly appropriate for stories about girls becoming women. Orringer possesses an acute understanding of the many rules of girlhood, in particular the uniquely childish importance of "not telling" (for fear of becoming a traitor, and consequently, an outcast). But though her subjects may take us to the murky depths--submerging us in the cruelties girls and siblings commit against each other--Orringer's nimble writing and subtle humor allow us to breathe. --Brangien Davis

From Publishers Weekly
Trapped in awkward, painful situations, the young protagonists of Orringer's debut collection discover surprising reserves of wisdom in themselves. Their trials are familiar if harsh-the illness and death of parents and friends, social ostracism-but Orringer's swift, intricate evocation of individual worlds gives depth and integrity to her nine stories, set everywhere from Florence to New Orleans to Disney World. The collection's title comes from "The Isabel Fish," in which 14-year-old Maddy is learning how to scuba dive after surviving a car accident in which her older brother's girlfriend drowned. Maddy is sure her brother hates her, and when he kills the fish she is raising for a science fair project, she can hardly blame him. It is only when they go diving together that she realizes he feels as guilty as she does. In "Note to Sixth-Grade Self"-written in a telegraphic second person-the narrator details her torments at the hands of a popular girls who speaks with a stutter. The cruelty of children is also dissected in "Stations of the Cross," in which Jewish Lila Solomon attends her friend's first Communion in the Deep South, and finds herself reluctantly playing a part in an enactment of the Crucifixion. In "When She Is Old and I Am Famous," fat Mira must cope with the arrival of her supermodel cousin: "Aida. That is her terrible name. Ai-ee-duh: two cries of pain and one of stupidity." By the end of the story, Aida has won over Mira, who finally empathizes with her bids for attention. No matter how wronged they have been, Orringer's characters are open to reconciliation and even willing to save their tormentors. It is this promise of grace-and Orringer's smooth, assured storytelling-that distinguishes the collection.

From Booklist
How apt it is that water is Orringer's ruling element and reigning metaphor, because her short stories are exceptionally translucent, deep, and fluid. Her young characters--primarily girls whose mothers are gravely ill with cancer, depressed in the wake of divorce, missing, or dead--are drawn to ponds, pools, and hot tubs where immersion in water is cleansing, even holy, but also deadly. In Orringer's sensuous yet edgy fictional universe, disease, accidents, rivalry, and ostracism are rampant; therefore, smart and determined girls and young women must devise their own covert strategies for survival. In one eerie tale, the young daughters of a cancer sufferer spend Thanksgiving in a similarly stricken household where the parents practice healing meditation while the children turn violent. In the Salingeresque "The Isabel Fish," a sister and brother struggle to reconcile in the aftermath of a drowning. Elsewhere summer's heady eroticism seduces Hasidic teens. Radiant in their explicit sensory descriptions, penetrating in their eviscerating discernment of both the cruelty and the resiliency of children, and exquisitely attuned to the overwhelming tide of emerging sexuality, Orringer's unnerving and fiercely beautiful stories delve to the very core of life's mysteries. Perfect Collection for the Summer
By Aviva
I absolutely loved this short story collection. This collection was full of coming of age and young adult stories. Sometimes it is hard to feel attached or connected to the characters in short stories, but that is not the case in How to Breathe Underwater. I felt an emotional response to each story. This collection shows the dark side of humankind in beautiful, moving ways. I think that this is a perfect summer read as most of the stories have a summer feel/setting. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone even those that aren't fond of short story collections.

Highly recommended reading.
By The Bookend Family
This was a collection of short stories that was recommended to me by a friend who happens to teach Literature at the University I attended. I absolutely loved this book and the stories within; my favorites being "Care", "Note to Sixth-Grade Self", "Pilgrams", and "What We Save". All of the stories are relative to things we experience and feel while struggling with understanding our limitations. Even though these are short stories the characters are well-developed and imperfect which examplifies the realism of the events.

An edgy debut that bristles with reality
By A Customer
I read a couple advance reviews that suggested this book was going to be a thoughtful and tender examination of relationships in the aftermath of loss. That description turned out to be beautifully true, but incomplete. A current of dark struggle muscles its way through these stories as well, setting the reader uncomfortably on edge. Orringer shows the reader that loss has a dark side that's often sexual and angry. In stories like "Care," "Stars of Motown Shining Bright" and "The Smoothest Way is Full of Stones," you'll see that the language of emotional dislocation is articulated with guns, drugs and sex. Even when a character's pain is kept inside, longing and loneliness seep out in sharp-tongued dialog and clear-eyed self-examination. Prepare yourself for a dark and beautiful ride.

Syndrome X: The Complete Nutritional Program to Prevent and Reverse Insulin Resistance, by Jack Challem, Burton Berkson, Melissa Diane Smi

You can feel great again!

"Syndrome X proactively lays out a nutritious, tasty, and simple diet plan to get us back to the basics of healthy nutrition."-Lendon H. Smith, M.D., New York Times bestselling author of Feed Your Body Right

"Syndrome X is the best new book to help you understand the facts about nutrition, health, and aging. . . . It is full of new information and insights most readers have never had access to before. Everyone who values his or her health will want to read the book and then individualize the program to suit his or her needs-the authors have made this easier than ever to do."-Richard A. Kunin, M.D., author of Mega-Nutrition

What is Syndrome X? It's a resistance to insulin-the hormone needed to burn food for energy-combined with high cholesterol or triglycerides, high blood pressure, or too much body fat. Syndrome X ages you prematurely and significantly increases your risk of heart disease, hypertension, obesity, eye disease, nervous system disorders, diabetes, Alzheimer's, cancer, and other age-related diseases.

Syndrome X is the first book to tell you how to fight the epidemic disorder that is derailing the health of nearly a third of North Americans. It outlines a complete three-step program-including easy-to-follow diets, light physical activity, and readily available vitamins and nutritional supplements-that will safeguard you against developing Syndrome X or reverse it if you already have it.

Amazon.com Review
If you're aging prematurely, getting fatter, feeling sluggish, and watching your blood pressure and cholesterol sneak upwards, you may have "Syndrome X," claim the authors, who say that up to 60 million North Americans have it. "Syndrome X is primarily a nutritional disease caused by eating the wrong foods," they write. The mysterious-sounding "Syndrome X" refers to a group of health problems including insulin resistance ("the inability to properly deal with dietary carbohydrates such as sugars"), plus at least one additional problem, such as abnormal blood fats (elevated cholesterol or triglycerides), overweight, and/or high blood pressure. Insulin resistance is "a diet-caused hormonal logjam that interferes with your body's ability to efficiently burn the food you eat." According to the authors, you probably have this problem, and if you do, eating processed carbohydrates are the root of it. Pastries, pastas, breakfast cereals, soft drinks--these refined carbos are the enemy. The book warns you that you probably suffer from insulin resistance (please get a blood test instead of relying on the admittedly unscientific questionnaire in the book, which makes everyone suspect who eats cereal or drinks fruit juice). Then the authors jump on the high-protein, low carb bandwagon. You can eat three eggs for breakfast, roast duck for lunch, and salmon for dinner, and snack on chicken slices.

It seems odd that if the problem is refined carbs that the solution is high protein and low carbs. The authors admit that most unrefined, or complex, carbohydrates do not have the excessive glucose- and insulin-stimulating effect of refined carbs, so why not recommend high-quality, unrefined carbohydrates (which are preferred over high-protein diets by the American Dietetic Association)? Consumers can't tell the difference, the authors say. So rather than educate them to the difference, let them eat meat. Go figure.

From Library Journal
Syndrome X is a metabolic disorder that interferes with the body's ability to use insulin to move glucose into cells. It causes insulin resistance or diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension and results in obesity and heart disease. Stanford University researcher Reaven and his coauthors clearly explain what the syndrome is; its impact on the body, especially the heart and circulatory system, is well described. Reaven describes his reasonable six-step program of diagnosis, diet, weight loss, physical activity, healthy lifestyle habits, and medical intervention for control of the disease. An excellent book on a disease that is becoming more common in the American population. Challem, a columnist for Natural Health, and coauthors Burt Berkson, M.D., and health journalist Melissa Diane Smith, call Syndrome X a nutritional disease, caused by a diet high in refined carbohydrates, that can be treated through nutrition and exercise. They falsely imply that most people over age 35 are physically and mentally sluggish owing to this syndrome and warn against using drugs for hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes. Their recommended diet program is high in protein, with moderate carbohydrate intake. Supplements such as chromium, zinc, and alpha lipoic acid are recommended. Unfortunately, the authors' scare tactics are unnecessary, and the medical information is faulty. Not recommended; get Reaven's book instead.

From Kirkus Reviews
Health columnist Challem (Natural Health, Lifestyle, and Modern Maturity magazines) and physician Berkson (President of the Integrative Medical Centers of New Mexico) define Syndrome X as two or more of the following occurring together: insulin resistance and glucose intolerance; high cholesterol; obesity; high triglycerides; and/or high blood pressureand warn that this is ``a disorder most people seriously risk developing by the time they reach middle age.'' In practical terms, they warn, the syndrome leaves sufferers feeling tired and fuzzy-minded, causes premature aging, and sets the stage for more serious diseases to develop. The authors therefore lay out a program involving diet, light physical activity, and nutritional supplements. After explaining the basic physiology of the disorder (insulin resistance is the starting block), they explain how we might get in trouble (poor diet, sedentary lifestyle) and how we might get out. While their diet is higher in protein and lower in carbohydrates than usually recommended by experts for general good health, the differences are not drastic. The authors do fall easily into diet-book hyperbole: ``You are about to be engulfed in one of the largest disease epidemics ever to strike North America. Recipes, advice on ordering in restaurants, and information on supplements and on customizing the diet for more complicated situations (if one also has cancer, for instance) complete their guide. The reasonable first of what will no doubt be many self-treatment guides on the constellation of symptoms that have coalesced into this newly-christened disorder. -- Copyright ©2000, Kirkus Associates, LP. Effective and informative but hard to stick to.
By Pixelgraph
I have been on this diet for three weeks and have lost 6lbs. Recently diagnosed with PCOS, I have been researching insulin-resistance with a fervor. "Syndrome X" does an excellent job of explaining insulin-resistance and its causes. However the eating plan outlined in the book is too hard to follow. The advice to avoid high-glycemic foods is sound, but after three weeks I was finding this increasingly difficult. This is not a lifestyle that I could live with forever.
I just read the book, "The Insulin-Resistance Diet: How to Turn Off Your Body's Fat-Making Machine". This book is more current than "Syndrome X" and provides an eating plan more congruent with the typical American lifestyle. The book explains how to balance carbohydrates (even high-glycemic carbs such as sugar and pasta) with protein to avoid insulin spikes, promote weight loss, and avoid disease. I started the new eating plan yesterday and my energy has greatly increased. On our evening walk last night, my husband commented that I had much more energy than I used to. I think that energy was a result of allowing myself the small serving of carbohydrates with dinner (1/2 cup of pasta and 1oz of chocolate) that I had been denying myself on the "Syndrome X" plan.
The "Syndrome X" eating plan is difficult to follow but effective. I do not know how effective the plan outlined in "The Insulin-Resistance Diet" is but I will write a review of it in a few weeks and cite my progress.
UPDATE: "The Insulin-Resistance Diet" did not work for me. As difficult as the "Syndrom X" diet is to stick to, it is really the only diet that shown me good results. Therefore I have upgraded my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. I suppose that diets are supposed to be hard, otherwise everyone would be thin...

Changed my life!
By Classic Movie Mom
At 38 years old, I was 55 pounds overweight with high blood pressure, sleep apnea, aching knees, and high triglycerides when my doctor informed me that I was insulin-resistant--bordering on diabetes. She told me to read this book. I have tried diets and exercises for the past 13 years, and nothing has worked for me. I read Syndrome X, followed it religiously (including the supplements) and I have lost 45 pounds in 5 months! I'm OFF my blood pressure medication, and I returned my CPAP (sleep apnea) machine! I am a strong believer in the theories presented in this book. I was never hungry, and I have felt great! I recommend this book to anyone with enough will power to follow it's instructions.

Practical, easy, can follow for the rest of your life
By A Customer
I checked out several X-Syndrome books from the library, and THIS is the one that helped me. Helped me lose 31 pounds so far -- and I only started 6 weeks ago. I've seen reviewers say it's impossible to stick to -- Well, yeh, if you're trying to follow the actual menu for severe symptoms. Follow their rule of thumb instead. No more than 4 carb-dense foods per day, balance with protein and a bit of fat.
Take it easy people. 1/3 of your calories from protein, the rest from good carbs and good fats. how hard is that. I'm not following any strict plan, yet my energy has increased 1,000 fold, I've lost a little under a pound a day AND I'M NOT STARVING!! I eat more than I did on an 1,800 calorie-a-day diet, I feel good, I have energy, and the weight is falling off of me.
I know the weight loss will slow down before long, but this is an eating plan I can live with.
I don't understand what the other reviewers found so difficult. The Reaven book had an eating plan that was impossible to follow and never even tells you how to figure out what percentage of your caloric intake is from proteins or carbs. What the hell, tell us to stick to a percentage and don't tell us how to figure that percentage. Well, that's easy! NOT! Foods listed in the Reaven book might be available in California, but not in Ohio. Hell, grocers hadn't even heard of items I had on a list from Reaven's book.
With this book, you can start your plan immediately -- use a couple of the recipes and go from there.
Lighten up people -- it's an eating plan, not a religion that doesn't allow you to vary one thing. It's working like magic for me. I wouldn't give up how good I feel for anything.

Holocaust Fiction, by Sue Vice

Examining the controversies that have accompanied the publication of novels representing the Holocaust, this compelling book explores such literature to analyze their violently mixed receptions and what this says about the ethics and practice of millennial Holocaust literature. The novels examined, including some for the first time, are:

* Time's Arrow by Martin Amis
* The White Hotel by D.M. Thomas
* The Painted Bird by Jerzy Kosinski
* Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally
* Sophie's Choice by William Styron
* The Hand that Signed the Paper by Helen Darville.

Taking issue with the idea that the Holocaust should only be represented factually, this compelling book argues that Holocaust fiction is not only legitimate, but an important genre that it is essential to accept. In a growing area of interest, Sue Vice adds a new, intelligent and contentious voice to the key debates within Holocaust studies.

The storyline is absolutely delicious, filled with danger, Highland intrigue, with paranormal twists and Highland suspense. Powerful tale! A must read!" My Book Addiction Reviews

"...this is different enough from other Highland romances to stand out from the pack, and I will definitely read the others in this series. Ms. Blair's writing style is natural and evocative . . ." Romantic Historical Reviews

"The lilting dialogue, the portrayal of life in early 1500s Scotland and the wonderful description of the vast and beautiful highlands really puts one in the center of the story..."Highland Seer" is a delightful highland romance!" InD'Tale Magazine

"16th-century intrigue, muscled men with claymores and a doomed romance -- is it any wonder I was reluctant to leave the rich, riveting world of Highland Seer? Good thing I can make my way back easily enough -- all I have to do is treat myself to Blair's celebrated debut, Highland Healer." USAToday HEA

From the Author
If you enjoy romance and adventure spiced up with a dash of psi talents, you'll love my books.
In my Highland Talents series, I take you to the Scottish Highlands of the early 16th century, where the old ways (and old talents) can still be found.

From the Inside Flap
She swallowed and licked her lips. "Ye are the man I need, Donal."

He didn't flinch, but his eyes narrowed again.

"Do ye, now? Has yer Sight shown ye this?" Quick as a viper, he uncrossed his arms and grabbed hers, lifting her onto her toes. His lips waited a whisper away from her mouth, taunting her. "Are ye certain that's all ye need me for, Ellie? Is that why ye came to my chamber?"

Startled, she shoved against his chest. She had as much success as pushing against a fire-warmed granite wall. He didn't resist, didn't shake her, merely stood, as if waiting for her to decide what she would do. As if he held all his power leashed, under tight control. His breath on her lips fanned the flames in Ellie's face. Her heart thudded as his chest muscles flexed beneath her fingers.

"Nay. Aye." She pushed again with one fist, torn between making him release her and making him listen. "Nay!"

He let go of her suddenly. Ellie nearly fell as she lost the support of his grip. He steadied her, then released her again and moved toward the door.

"I'm sorry, lass. I shouldna done that." He spread his fingers, then clenched them into a fist. "Yer touch...ye make me forget my place."

Lovely highland romance
By k kaz
Highland Seer is the second book in Willa Blair's Highland Talents series. I did not read the first book, and although characters from the first book make a guest appearance, I did not feel at any time that the first book was mandatory reading in order to understand this one.

The story begins with the arrival of several Lathan clan members at the MacKyrie holding. Imagine their surprise when they learn that the present Laird, Ellie MacKyrie, is a woman and seer. The Lathan warriors seek to instate a peace treaty among key clans and they need Ellie's signature. They quickly surmise that although her clan possesses wealth in the shape of whiskey and valuable land, they sorely lack able-bodied soldiers to protect them since most died in battle. They realize the MacKyrie clan needs them while a rival Laird is set on making trouble by refusing to acknowledge Ellie's rejection.

During the treaty negotiations with the Lathan group, Ellie meets the man who has haunted her visions, Donal MacNabb. Ellie is immediately taken by this hardened warrior and requests that he stay and help her clan by training her inexperienced, young soldiers. Donal's sense of honour and conflicting feelings make him refuse her offer, even when Ellie wishes to offer him much more.

Ellie is a very strong character. She makes her feelings and objectives known from the start and Donal doesn't stand a chance. She is a beloved leader and bravely faces the handicap of being a female Laird in a world ruled by male physical strength. Donal is forced to recognize his love for Ellie while he battles to protect her and her clan. He is loyal as well as strong, and he respects her as chief. He wants her, but he feels he's not good enough for her, that she deserves better. I loved how Donal faced his insecurities and finally accepted his worth as Ellie's mate.

Their love story develops slowly, in a physical setting that I felt was both romantic and rough. The descriptions transported me to the highlands. I liked that Ellie went after what she wanted; it was refreshing to depart from the typical timid maiden and meet a heroine who is both wise and mature. Ellie doesn't have too many visions throughout the book, and her gift as seer is sorely downplayed. The ending was a bit rushed, but it was also heart-warming. We do get a lovely HEA and I am left wondering who the next book will be about...

Highland Seer
By Cathy Henderson
This is the second book in this series by Willa Blair and I loved it as much as the first one (Highland Healer). The story jumped right into action from the very start and kept going. I loved getting to know Donal and Ellie and all the stuff they went through before they realized they were meant for each other. There was romance, fighting, lying, good guys, really bad guys and all the stuff that makes the Scottish Romances so fun to read. I thought I'd have a heart attack before Donal saved the day but I knew he would! I'm really looking forward to Jamie's story (book 3 in the series).

Pure dead brilliant!

Pure dead brilliant!

Aye Laddies and Lassies, this is one of the most brilliant enticing Scottish Highland stories I’ve read in a long time. The writing captivated me throughout the whole story. The humorous Scottish language had me busting out laughing in some of the scenes and the drama’s build up was so intense that it kept me on the edge of my seat.
The characters had the perfect chemistry and I loved how unexpectedly love came up from behind and bitchslapped Donal. The growing realization was humorous.

Donal MacNabb is a stubborn old man, his personality is full of dry humor which I love. He kind of reminds me of my own husband, strong of course, wise in his years of experience, but cautious and cool headed while taking in his surroundings. He takes life seriously but in a joking way that it’s hard to figure out if he is kidding or serious. His actions and expressions make him swoon worthy and sexy as all get out.

Ellie MacKyrie is a woman who knows what she wants. Yes she has a seer’s ability but she has not mastered it fully so she has a hard time distinguishing between the seeing and dreams. She is a strong minded woman but delegate and wise enough to protect herself and her clan from danger even if she has to sacrifice herself.

The plot was intense at times especially in the end. My emotions went from calm to scared as another brutal laird over took Ellie and forced her into submission. The author made the perfect character to hate, a brutal laird who raped and killed at will and in the end the author has the perfect hero Donal MacNabb to save the day and the clan.

I recommend this to all historical romance readers and I absolutely look forward to the next book in this series. This is just one series that the character’s and their experiences stay with you for a life time and I just want to live in their world to see all their conquests.

Perfect Story and Read!
